ahhhhhhhh i can't believe you are about to go to the airport. and get on a plane. and fly far far away. 147 was so empty when you drove away with Markie & all your luggage this past sunday after your 18th birthday & bon-voyage party the day before...and now you are about to do it all over again except WAY bigger!

everyone you left behind on Sunday was excited for you...but despondent at the same time at the void that you left. so despondent that we threw ourselves into work just to keep our minds off the sadness of bidding you farewell!

by the way - 147 walworth avenue was never cleaned so thoroughly or so nicely rearranged of furniture! lol. we have you to thank as the impetus for that!

we're praying for your SMOOTH travels and transitions...

strange that you won't get this until some days have passed and you are in Kenya somewhere......

I left you at the airport, what an awful feeling for a mom, it was just another step in your emerging adulthood and individuation, one which I try to ignore till it hits me in the face, like it did today, as I walked away from you and got back in the car, I felt an emptiness undescribable to anyone who is not yet a parent. I bid you Godspeed my young fledgling, and blood of jesus protect you. May you make a huge difference for the youth in Kenya and may they make an impact on you as well. You will never be the same, I can promise you that!
